Bashir Dawood, an active supporter and a participant of the well-known Dawood Foundation, has provided numerous assistances to medical students and medical research in Pakistan. Not only had he rendered his service to the medical field but also the needy people.

As a member of the Dawood family, he has provided monumental assistance to medical students. In addition to supporting the first dedicated organ transplant center of Pakistan, he has helped coordinate several surgical facilities at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) in Karachi.

In Operation theaters, Bashir Dawood has facilitated new tools for improved accuracy, and also made patient information to readily accessible to doctors. He has also provided much advanced neurosurgical equipment to the neurosurgeon at AKUH.

To treat Pakistani citizens with visual disorders, a Refractive Laser Suite was launched in the name of mariyam dawood, wife to him. This suite was provided with LASIK, a popular laser-based surgical procedure which is used to replace the invasive surgical treatment options.
